Feedback

Liz Lerman's method

How do we construct feedback in the artistic process to maximum benefit for the artist? The American choreographer Liz Lerman pondered this and subsequently developed her feedback method Critical Response Process (CRP). The structure of this method helps the artist to be in control through the feedback process and gain useful reflections on a work in progress, encouraging continued creativity with joy and energy. The method was developed with the needs of choreographers in mind, but is useful in any creative process.

Ólöf Ingólfsdóttir received training in CRP in 2011. She has assisted many artists and collectives in their creative process with this method. People have been surprised at how early in the process it is possible to obtain very useful information about the work and its impact. In the case of a long creative process, planning two or more visits is advised. The artist decides what they want to share with the viewers, who participate in a feedback process (CRP) immediately after the viewing. Ólöf keeps track of the entire process and supports both the audience and the artist so that the process is useful and enjoyable for everyone.
